Sobe Botanicals

I’d first encountered Sobe on Etsy and the first thing I noticed were their lip products.
When I stumbled across a review by Grey of LeGothique.com, I decided to go ahead and make a purchase.
Although it was their lip products that initially grabbed my attention, I ended up purchasing mostly eye shadows and a gel eyeliner.
My package arrived nicely wrapped, red ribbon and all including 2 free samples. I purchased the following pigments:
1. Huckleberry from the ‘Fall for You’ collection.
2. Capri from the Rainbow Brights collection.
3. Parfait – I couldn’t find this color it when I re-visited the website so I couldn’t tell you which collection it was from I’m afraid.
There were no names on the samples I received either but I’ll contact Sobe and find out.
Onto the fun part, swatches!

*Swatches were applied over Urban Decay Primer Potion in Sin.
All of these mineral shadows had a shimmer finish and the colors were very subtle. I found that they worked better for me when I applied them with a primer like Sin to make the colors a little more vibrant.
Of the colors I purchased, Huckleberry is my favorite.
I’ve also been searching for a vegan gel liner for a little while now, and I decided to purchase one from Sobe in the color Black Out. In the swatches below, I’ve compared Black Out to MAC’s Black Track gel liner.
It’s quite pigmented as you can see from the photograph both liners were swiped twice.
A couple of things I did notice with Black out is that it takes a little while to dry so do be careful after application and if you have oily lids this may not be for you as the liner can fade but other wise a good product.
Overall I was impressed with Sobe products and their customer service. Prices were very reasonable, $1 for the samples and $7.99 for the gel liner and shipping to the UK was pretty fast.
I do plan on purchasing from Sobe again, this time I plan to attack the lip products. I’ve had my eye on their Goth Lipstix for a while now, Vamptress and Gothique have been calling out to me.
If you’ve tried any Sobe products then please let me know your thoughts.

Holy cow! Sobe’s black liner looks fantastic! I knew they made good eye shadows and lipsticks, good to see her liner is good. She also has a few good primers, too.

I know right, I didn’t expect her liner to be a black as it was, its a nice little company and I look forward to purchasing from them again.
      Thanks for commenting Phyrra 🙂
